La unica banda americana que podìa competir con The Beatles en cuestiòn de armonizaciòn de voces, ademàs de lograr un sonido muy interesante para la època; de hecho Paul McCartney se inspiro en el album Pet Sounds para concebir Sgt. Pepper (dos de los albums màs influyentes en la historia del rock/pop).
